about little scholars

We at Little Scholars strongly believe in the Dr. Maria Montessori ethos, that the children should be treated with respect and dignity, that each child has the freedom to choose and make their own decisions. This child centered environment not only improves their confidence, but independence and of course adapts their social skills to meet the demands of everyday life.

We believe within Maria Montessori's findings, that the first six years of a child's life is the most crucial time for their development. The child's mind is sponge like between the ages of 0-6years, Maria Montessori called this the "Absorbent mind" phase. It is at this stage that your child will learn quickly and feed off their environment, in addition Dr. Montessori identified it is during these formative years, 0-6yrs, that your child will travel through 6 sensitive periods; sensitivity to small objects, sensitivity to walking, sensitivity to order, refinement of the senses, sensitivity to language and sensitivity to social aspects.

Subsequently we at Little Scholars feel strongly that it is of up most importance to have your child placed within a pre-school environment during these crucial early years to meet the demands of their leaning needs, and continue their natural development to their full potential.

Little Scholars is a home from home with very qualified and competent staff, each staff member is qualified to a minimum of FETAC level 5 in Montessori, we have members of staff qualified to degree level and even up to master's level! All our staff are first aid trained and have vast experience in all areas of childcare. We aim to give your children the best service possible and meet any needs you may have.
